Learn More About Metropolitan Patients Dental Subsidy Scheme

Through the Metropolitan Patients Dental Subsidy Scheme (MPDSS), eligible individuals in the metropolitan region who have been notified by the Department of Health and placed on the public waiting list can get subsidised non-emergency dental care.
Those on the waitlist for access to a public dentist will get general dentistry treatments at private dental clinics with assistance from the MPDSS. You may be eligible for dental treatment through the MPDSS if you have a valid health care or pensioner concession card.

Things You Should Know About MPDSS

To determine if you are eligible for subsidised dental care, contact your nearest public dental clinic and register for subsidised dental care on the Dental Health Services (DHS) website.
If you live in the metropolitan area, DHS will send you a letter in the mail requesting an appointment at a local public dental office or a voucher for a participating private dental clinic.

At Piara Waters Dental, we extend our dental expertise to assist patients with health care cards to have their dental treatment done while still retaining the same level of cost contribution from the government’s Dental Health Services. There are some restrictions, so don’t hesitate to contact us at 08 6196 4661 for further details.

What's Covered by MPDSS?

Costs will differ depending on the type of treatment you require. The West Australian Government provides up to 75% of your care, with no co-payments or payment plans required for some therapies initially covered by our program. However, if you want some additional services, they can be acquired at an extra cost. During the consultation, if the dentist requires a procedure, it will be discussed to get what is best for your situation and finances.
