The Australian dental market does not offer standalone policies. However, you can purchase Extras Cover (specialized coverage) with your regular plan. It includes general dental or major dental, including both endodontic and orthodontic treatments, in your coverage.
Preventative dental treatments such as oral exams, scaling and cleaning, dental fillings, x-rays, tooth extractions, and mouthguards are all covered under general dental procedures. On the other hand, major dental typically covers more complex procedures such as endodontic and orthodontic procedures.
How Health Funds Works
- There may be a waiting period when you join a new health insurance company. Waiting periods vary depending on your health plan, the extent of coverage you have, and the type of treatment.
- Regardless of how much we charge, private insurance corporations pay according to their fee schedules. It's possible that the maximum benefit allowance you receive will not cover the total cost of your dental treatment, given your fund's maximum benefit allocation.
- For your convenience, all of our dental clinics feature HICAPS terminals, allowing us to process on-the-spot claims on-site as long as you bring your health fund card with you.
- Piara Waters Dental is a private company that does not form part of your insurance contract, and we cannot guarantee what benefits it will cover. Additionally, privacy limitations keep us from contacting them on your behalf.
