Cosmetic Dentistry
Having a beautiful smile is considered one of the main assets. However, not everyone has perfect teeth, and some people may feel insecure.
Cosmetic dentistry is the branch of dentistry that focuses on enhancing the appearance of your teeth. It can be done by modifying the colour, shape, and alignment of the teeth to make them more attractive. Cosmetic dentistry can help patients achieve a beautiful smile once again.
Among those cosmetic procedures are teeth whitening, dental veneers, dental crowns, and dental bridges
General Dentistry
General dentistry encompasses the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders and conditions in the oral and maxillofacial regions of the body. General dentists provide preventative and restorative services such as x-rays, teeth cleanings, cavity fillings, and sealants.
General dentists offer a more comprehensive range of treatments and procedures than specialists because they focus on a broader field of dentistry. They also treat people of all ages.
Childrens Dentist
Dental problems are one of the most common health issues for children, and parents want to make sure their children get the best dental care.
A children’s dentist is a practitioner who deals with preventing, diagnosing, and treating dental disease in children from infancy through adolescence. Standard services include oral examinations for detecting developmental problems, x-ray imaging, fluoride treatments, sealants, and tooth fillings. They can also treat problems like tooth grinding and prevent them from worsening.
Emergency Dentist
If you have a toothache that is so painful it keeps you up at night, or if you have chipped or cracked teeth and need immediate dental care, then your problem can be solved by calling an emergency dentist.
Emergency dentists are available after hours, on weekends, and on holidays to handle many dental emergencies and problems. Any dental problem requiring prompt treatment until regular office hours can be considered an emergency in general. It includes dental treatment to stop bleeding, alleviate severe discomfort, or preserve a tooth, as well as acute infections that might be life-threatening if not treated promptly.
Orthodontics
Getting braces is a big decision. It’s not just about your smile; it’s also about the impact that orthodontic treatment can have on your health and self-esteem.
Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that diagnoses, prevents, intervenes, and corrects malocclusions, or dental defects. It is a dental procedure used to straighten or move teeth to improve their appearance and function. It may also assist in the long-term maintenance of your teeth, gums, and jaw joints by evenly distributing biting pressure across all of your teeth. Treatments can be done on children or adults, depending on the patient’s needs.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are the most reliable and durable option for replacing missing teeth. Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are surgically implanted into the jawbone, where they act as a screw. It provides a solid foundation for permanent or fixed replacement artificial teeth designed to match your natural teeth.
They also help prevent further deterioration in your jawbone structure since they stimulate bone growth. Dental implants have a success rate of up to 98%. Implant survival rates are generally higher when properly taken care of.

However, like any other dental work, it is important to care for your crowns properly to make them last.
This article will discuss the benefits of this dental procedure, how to take care of dental crowns, and the signs of failing crowns so that you will know when to visit your dentist immediately.
FAQ’s About Our Dental Services
How do I become a patient of the practice?
Becoming a patient of the practice is easy. All it requires, is for you to simply book and attend a new patient appointment so that we can record your medical and dental history, carry out a comprehensive examination, take any necessary radiographs and carry out cleaning/polishing if required. At this appointment we will have a detailed discussion regarding the findings and any recommendations.
This means we will always have a detailed record allowing for easy monitoring and appointment scheduling.
Benefits include being on our recall system so you don’t need to worry about forgetting and missing your routine check and maintenance appointments. You will have priority appointments if an urgent need arises for you or a family member and also have an after hours contact number giving you peace of mind that your dentist is always available to you.
Do you treat children at Piara Waters Dental?
We love seeing children and endeavour to make appointments fun. At Piara Waters Dental we believe that preventing dental disease is better than having to treat the outcomes.
It is important to bring children in for dental examinations from an early age so that they are familiar with visiting the dentist and associate it with a positive experience. We teach and promote good habits allowing the children to maintain healthy teeth for their whole lives. When dental treatment is needed, we make the process as comfortable as possible.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) provides individual benefits for a wide variety of dental services. Eligible children between 2-17 years, will have access to a benefit cap of $1000.00 over a two year calendar period. Families can check whether their child is eligible by contacting the Department of Human Services.
Why is it important to have my teeth professionally checked and cleaned regularly?
Dental appointments are an important opportunity for the doctor to analyse not only your teeth but your whole mouth; including gums, jaws and soft tissues. This is important as often times dental problems do not cause any major symptoms until the disease process is well advanced.
Dentists can often spot these issues years before it becomes a major problem, helping to avoid expensive and invasive procedures
COVID-19 related precautions undertaken at Piara Waters Dental
We are now at level one restrictions for dental treatment. This means all patients will be triaged on the phone to ascertain their specific level of risk. High/moderate risk patients will be deferred for non-urgent treatment or referred for appropriate management.
For patients who are deemed low risk, treatment may be carried out under standard precautions as normal.
Alcohol based hand sanitisation and a pre-procedural mouthwash are additional precautions that are implemented. The waiting room is regularly cleaned and social distancing is enforced.
As a single dentist practice patients can be assured there will be low foot-traffic within the clinic hence minimising interaction between patients.
Is it easy to find Parking at Piara Waters Dental?
There is ample free parking at Piara Waters Dental in a private dedicated carpark. This means as a patient you wont need to spend time looking for parking, or walk through busy shopping centre car parking lots following dental treatment.
